Burnham Place
Project Vision
CONNECTIVITY BY THE NUMBERS
Project Vision

Burnham Place will provide commercial, retail, and residential opportunities unparalleled in the National Capital region, while delivering tangible public benefits:

Commercial Hub

  • With easy access to Capitol Hill, downtown DC, and the entire region, Burnham Place offers professional organizations maximum efficiency, convenience, and employee quality of life.
  • On 14 acres only six blocks from the U.S. Capitol, the project’s potential is vast. Burnham Place could accommodate a global headquarters, major cultural institution, or multi-building campus.

Hospitality, Retail and Entertainment Opportunities

  • Burnham Place is an ideal hotel location, with direct access to the millions of visitors who come to Union Station each year.
  • The project will build upon the nearly 200 shops, restaurants, and cultural offerings of Union Station and the adjacent H Street NE and NoMa neighborhoods.

Residential Communities

  • Burnham Place will feature the closest apartments in Washington, DC to Union Station and its transportation amenities.
  • Within easy walking distance, residents will enjoy grocery stores, hundreds of neighborhood amenities, and multiple transit links such as Amtrak service to Philadelphia, New York, and beyond; a streetcar line to the Atlas Performing Arts Center; the Circulator bus to Nationals Ballpark; and a four-minute Metro trip to Gallery Place.

Public Benefits

  • Burnham Place will incorporate new and expanded facilities for Amtrak and commuter rail, as well as new connections and greater capacity at the north end of Union Station.
  • The project will transform 14 acres of air – above unsightly rail lines – into a productive, attractive, smart growth development.
  • Burnham Place will demonstrate the vision and ability of the nation’s capital to execute on a technically and economically ambitious project matched by few other cities around the world.
